A short series that I just decided to dedicate to the transplanted Chicagoan, *fdpiech. Poor guy's languishing away from the loveliness of downtown. So... this is for him. Smile, cheer up... you'll just have to visit soon, hmm?

Concave Illusion

As for the title, it's not that the building's curve is an illusion. Oh, no, that's quite real. It's the illusion it creates on paper. Because of that curve, the photo doesn't look square... the angles don't look like 90 degrees, even though they are. (Trust me, I checked. ) It's quite a nifty illusion. Even this framed version tends to try and bend the eye a bit. I think the framing curbs the illusion a bit, though. *shrugs*

Anyway, this is the Bank One Plaza (again). As I've mentioned, it's one of my fav buildings from downtown. I've taken several pictures of it: [link] and [link] are two that are in my gallery. Hmm... and this concludes my lil series of Chicago Scenes in B&W. *claps for herself, then laughs*
